Matthew A. Johnson, Psy.D., MSW, ("Dr. J.") is a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice located in Grants Pass, Oregon. He holds degrees from the University of Alaska at Anchorage, Rutgers University, and George Fox University. He has worked with parents and children in the mental health field since 1982 in group homes, residential treatment centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient settings. Dr. Johnson was the Clinical Director for Charter North Outpatient Counseling Center in Fairbanks, Alaska. He is also the President of FAMILY Rules, Inc. He wrote "Positive Parenting with a Plan (Grades K-12): FAMILY RULES" and has taught this successful research-based behavior modification system for families in a variety of settings across the United States. Dr. Johnson has lectured extensively on child and adolescent health issues and improving families. He has trained over 50,000 professionals and over 10,000 parents. He recently presented this incredible day-long seminar at the "World Family Therapy Congress" in Porto, Protugal. He has been featured on "The Early Show", CNN, ESPNS, USA Today, and on 250+ radio programs. 2. Elizabeth Jackson, MS, RD. (Ellyn Satter Consultant)

Elizabeth Jackson, MS, RD has used internal regulation of eating as the cornerstone of her work in dietetics for 21 years, after having embraced Ellyn Satter's teachings as a dietetics student in Wisconsin. In 2002, she was invited by Satter to be one of the founding members of the Ellyn Satter Institute (ESI),- which is currently creating a not-for-profit foundation devoted to consulting teaching, and research. Now in her 17th year of private practice in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Elizabeth works as an eating and nutrition consultant for most outpatient diagnoses, specializing in child feeding, eating and growth problems and clinical eating disorders. As a part-time faculty memter at Central Michigan University, she also developed and teaches a popular upper level course on eating disorders for dietetics and other allied health majors, offered online, as well, through CMU's graduate program in dietetics. Through ESI and her consulting business, she provides presentations and workshops for health professionals and educators throughout the U.S. and Canada. Elizabeth believes that it is only through the preservation of and return to internal regualtion of eating that child and adult weight dysregulation and eating disorders can be successfully prevented and treated.
3. Victor C. Strasburger, MD

Dr. Vic Strasburger is currently Chief of the Division of Adolescent Medicine, Professor of Pediatrics, and Professor of Family & Community Medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has graduated from Yale College (Summa Cumlaude, Phi Beta Kappa), where he studied fiction-writing with Robert Penn Warren. He went to Harvard Medical School and did his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital in Seattle, Children's Hospital in Boston, and Paddington Green Children's Hospital in London. He completed an Adolescent Medicine Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Strasburger has authored more than 120 articles and papers and 8 books on the subjects of adolescent medicine, and the effects of television on children and adolescents, including ADOLESCENT MEDICINE: A PRACTICAL GUIDE (2nd edition, 1998, Lippincott-Williams & Wilkins, with Dr. Robert Brown) and ADOLESCENTS AND THE MEDIA (Sage, 1995). His most popular book is entitled, GETTING YOUR KIDS TO SAY NO IN THE 1990s WHEN YOU SAID YES IN THE 1960s (Fireside/Simon & Schuster, 1993). His current book is a textbook: CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, AND THE MEDIA, co-authored with Barbara Wilson, Ph.D. and published by Sage Publications in Newbury Park, California in 2002. He also has one published novel, entitled ROUNDING THIRD & HEADING HOME. He has served as Chair of the AAP's Section on Adolescent Health, a member of the Committee on Communications, and a consultant to the National PTA and the AMA on children and the media. He has been featured several times on National Public Radio (NPR) and on Newsweek, and has appeared multiple times on "Oprah," The Today Show," and "CBS This Morning." In the year 2000, Dr. Strasburger was honored by the American Academy of Pediatrics with the Adele Delenbaugh Hofmann Award for outstanding lifetime achievement in Adolescent Medicine, and was the first recipient of the Holroyd-Sherry Award, given for media Advocacy work. Dr. Strasburger lives in Albuquerque with his wife (a neuropsychiatrist) and his two children, Max (age 11) and Katya (age 9).
